Schedule/Appointments:

  1. Requests within certain times within morning, noon and evening visiting hours will be accepted but not guaranteed. To accommodate pets requiring medication or dogs who have no access to the outside on their own, time of visits may vary within the morning, noon and evening schedule.
  2. Business and visiting hours shall fall between 6:00AM and 8:00PM. Services are usually completed within this time frame unless behind schedule.
  3. Holidays: (Time and 1/2) Easter Sunday, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Week, Memorial Day, Labor Day, New Years Eve and Day.
  4. Reservations should be booked as far in advance as possible - preferrably a minimum of 5 -7 days to ensure availability.

Cancellation:

If services are cancelled less than 24 hours prior to time your scheduled services is set to begin, a 50% cancel fee applies.

  • Holiday cancellation policy - If less than 2 weeks - No Refunds

Keys: We must have working house keys at time of orientation visit

Visitors:

  1. No one should be in your home in your absence unless we are totally aware of who, when, why and agree to it. We are not liable for security of premises or loss if other individuals have access to home during our term of pet sitting services.
  2. Please inform friends, neighbors and relatives that they should not interfere with the pet sitter in any manner. You may authorize such people to change services by the calling Where the Heart Is office. Changes will be accepted only through calls to office and if agreed upon in advance and authorized by client.

Treatments:

  1. Where the Heart Is does not diagnose, prognose, or make therapy decisions, nor does it offer veterinary services. Any services performed are treatments sent home from veterinarian for owner to perform at home. Any medical concerns will be referred to a veterinarian.
  2. All medications, illness, or treatments should be discussed with us prior to owner leaving to ensure complete safety for your pet.
 

PAYMENT:
1. COD (cash on delivery) Payment is done before or at the time of pet sit. NO BILLING

2. Payment may be made in the form of cash, check or money order.

3. Reimbursable Expenses: (eg. food) and extended service fees are due and payable within 7 days of service comlpetion.

4. Reservations for 5 days or more require a 50% deposit at the orientation meeting or prior to scheduled reservation. The remaining alance should be left in a pre-designated location in your home to be picked up during first scheduloed visit.
.....Holiday: 1 week prior to and following holidays require deposit.

FEES:
1. If needed, additional supplies /food will be purchased and pet owner will reimburse cost plus errand charge.

2. If pet owner fails to notify us to their return, pet sitting services and related fees will continue until notification is received. (If planning to arrive later than scheduled, owner should also notify Where the Heart Is)

3. In the event of a lockout due to faulty hardware, a locksmith may be needed to gain entry to property in order for us to maintain the safety and care of pets. Pet owner shall reimburse Where the Heart Is within 7 days of return to their home.
